You may think the great thing about buying birthday presents is that the recipient never complains. After all, it's the thought that counts. In theory, a birthday gift basket is one of the best birthday presents anyone could give, since you are presenting anywhere from 4-12 individual gifts.

Some gift givers make the mistake of buying a lower priced gift basket, believing that all of these items contain more or less the same thing. Food samples may be very small, even too small to get much of a taste, while drink samples are also lacking. Gifts included may be random, useless or not related to the theme or recipient in any way. Remember when you are shopping for a moderately priced birthday gift basket (cheapies aren't worth buying) the individual items in the basket should all be of a very good quality. This means new samples of sweets, and servings that are generous-enough to satiate a recipient's appetite.

The mistake that so many shoppers make when buying birthday baskets is to put so much emphasis on the idea, or the basket, that the items enclosed are all but neglected. Buy something cheap and you will get a fake thank you. Buy a basket full of thought, meaning and quality and you will get a genuine hug from a very pleased birthday boy or girl. You should always aim to please the appetite when purchasing a gift basket for any occasion.
